Who we are

The Ahi story

AHI Network is a Bay Area community of Türkiye-connected technology professionals, grounded in Muslim values of trust, ethics, and the common good.

Why “Ahi”

The word Ahi (اخي, ahî) comes from the Arabic akhī — “my brother” — and is linked to the old Turkish akı, meaning generous and noble.

Ahilik (Akhism) was a 13th-century Anatolian fraternity of craftsmen and merchants, rooted in the fütüvvet (futuwwa) tradition of moral chivalry and associated with Ahi Evran. It fused professional guilds with ethics: honest work, quality craftsmanship, generosity, hospitality, mentorship of apprentices, and mutual solidarity.

A modern professional network built on trust, mentorship, and mutual benefit is a direct continuation of that tradition. That is the AHI Network.
